EDINBURGH CHRISTMAS MARKET
12:24
For my last post of this ten post series, I took a trip to the Edinburgh Christmas market, my absolutely favourite place to be at this time of the year. The outfits that can seen while you're walking around all the different parts of the market are super festive and definitely inspire you for your own winter outfits.
The Edinburgh Christmas market gets bigger and bigger every year, there is the main traditional German market at the top of Princes Street Gardens, where all the stalls filled with homemade gifts and delicious food are. The lower down you get into the gardens, this is where Santa Land is, there is a christmas tree maze, a carousel, a train that takes you around all of Santa Land and then lots of little fun games.
Along George Street there is a huge lights display that has a show with music every night on the run up to christmas, watching it is perfect for getting you in the Christmas spirit. Finally along in St Andrews Square is the ice rink, which circles around the whole square surrounded by loads of trees covered in fairy lights, it is like a little winter wonderland.

Winter this year hasn't been as cold as it normally would be, it's nearing the end of December and it's not snowed once! So for this trip I didn't feel like I needed to dress overly warm, otherwise I would just over heat. I decided to opt for my trench coat, as it is thin so didn't add too much warmth and made my outfit feel both dressy and christmassy. I added a huge scarf and hat so combat the fact that the coat was so thin, this way if I did get too warm I would be able to remove one or the other. I added a plain blue pair of jeans, so as not to over do the outfit, and finished it of with my chelsea boots as they were super comfy for walking around the city.

Sarah went for a different Christmassy vibe, picking the leather jacket over a winter coat, also because of not knowing what the weather would be like, a light jacket was the best option. It also made her outfit feel very dressy, well her whole outfit was very dressed up. The skirt was a nice touch, and the bright and colourful pattern allowed the outfit to brighten up, rather than being all black and grey. The way the skirt is the only colour within the outfit allows this to be the main aspect of the outfit. Sarah also went for a pair of chelsea boots (coincidently we had the same pair of boots), again these were perfect for all the walking we were doing.
I had a great time at the market, it just doesn't feel like Christmas until I've been to the Edinburgh market, you absolutely have to go during the festive period as all the attractions are there until the 7th January. I definitely recommend you have a crepe while you're there as well as they are amazing.
I hope you've enjoyed this ten post series on street style, as much as I have enjoyed writing it. It has been so fun venturing to new and exciting places and looking at all the amazing fashion and has definitely made me think even more about what I'm going to wear to each place I visit.
