AMSTERDAM

My friends and I decided to take a mid-semester trip to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is just oozing with culture, it's most famous features are the many museums, lots and lots of bikes, tulips, canals and cute little houses that are just so Instagram-worthy! Most importantly, although unexpected, the city was full of amazing fashion. Walking through Vondelpark, I was met by cyclists in some incredible outfits, the people of Amsterdam knew how to dress (and cycle).
When we were in Amsterdam we did the typical tourist things. We visited the Van Gogh museum, the Anne Frank museum, three different sex museums (it is Amsterdam afterall), the Extra Ice Bar and the Red Light District. We also went on a cycle around Vondelpark and did A LOT of walking.
Jo Wears: Jumper - H&M // Jeans - River Island // Trainers - Adidas
Rebecca wears: Jumper - H&M // Jeans - Topshop // Trainers - Nike // Sunglasses - Primark
As all my posts seem to centre around, the trainers are obviously the most important feature. With all the walking we were doing in Amsterdam there wasn't really any other choice for footwear, they were essential as they are SO practical. As it was autumn we all expected the weather to be freezing, and pretty much only packed jumpers! Surprisingly it was actually quite warm, with the exception of a few showers. This is why Jo and Rebecca are not wearing coats, as on this day the weather was on our side. However, if you are going to choose to not wear a coat, then a jumper is most definitely essential. Sunglasses also became a necessity due to the sunshine we were graced with, it was a good thing we all remembered to pack them!
Amy wears: Jeans - Topshop // Denim Jacket - Lee // Trainers - Nike // Bag - Fjallraven
Amy has added a denim jacket to her outfit, which gives her outfit a creative edge. The backpack is very practical for the trip as it doesn't feel as heavy lugging this around all day, the bag has a hipster vibe which adds to the creative edge of Amy's outfit. Overall she definitely fits in with Amsterdam's street style.
For my outfit, I've got my trusty Superdry coat (I know, again), this is my warmest coat I own and its waterproof, two factors I thought I would definitely need for a trip to Amsterdam in October. I also added my mom jeans to this outfit as I thought they would give my outfit a slight edge and were slightly different to my typical skinny jeans I would normally choose. I also took this picture in a giant mirror cube outside of the Van Gogh museum, as I thought they would make for a really cool picture!
Even though this wasn't my first trip to Amsterdam, it most definitely will not be my last. There is still so much more to explore in this beautiful city, once you've visited the famous landmarks that's when you venture deeper into the city to find the places they don't put in the brochures. If you've never been to Amsterdam, I suggest you go and book a trip right now!
